Social Responsibility - Building Better Back

Jonathan McCullough Sr., a native of Southeast Houston, grew up in a devout household with his late father, Pastor George McCullough, and loving mother, Dorothy McCullough. Despite being immersed in religious practices, Jonathan struggled to find his own purpose and establish a meaningful connection with his Creator. This void led him down a destructive path of crack cocaine addiction that spanned over two decades, ultimately resulting in a three-year prison sentence.

During his time incarcerated, Jonathan experienced a profound awakening. Reflecting on the consequences of his addiction, which included homelessness, broken relationships, and repeated encounters with the law, he found solace by actively participating in prison church services and assuming the role of a trustee. However, it wasn’t until a heart-wrenching visit from his ailing father, who questioned his own faith and success as a parent, that Jonathan was overwhelmed with grief and desperation. It was in this moment that he humbly cried out to God, seeking forgiveness, liberation from addiction, self-discovery, and purpose. Miraculously, his prayers were answered.

Upon his early release, Jonathan embarked on a transformative journey to deepen his relationship with God, gain a profound understanding of biblical truths, mend broken bonds, establish his own transportation business, Logistics Refrigerated Solutions, LLC, and currently serves as Vice President of Logistics and Transportation. His unwavering resilience and determination exemplify the notion that our beginnings do not dictate our endings. Jonathan is committed to finishing strong and, in doing so, inspiring others to believe in the limitless possibilities that await them.

Building Better Back

Our mission extends beyond mere construction projects; we strive to shape our urban environment by equipping individuals with knowledge and blessings through our program.

Teach a Man to Fish

While the specific phrase "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" is not directly mentioned in the Bible, its underlying principle aligns harmoniously with biblical teachings of generosity, wisdom, and assisting others. The Bible encourages us to share our blessings and impart knowledge to those in need, empowering them to become self-sufficient and flourish in their lives.

Building Success

Here at CCC, we firmly believe in providing second chances and celebrating initial successes. If you are interested in learning more about our program, which offers formerly incarcerated individuals opportunities in skilled trades, enabling them to achieve self-sufficiency and make positive contributions to society, please don't hesitate to contact us at marvina@chocolatecyclopsconstruction.com.

Hand up, not Hand out

Our major urban cities are witnessing a decline in their youth population, largely due to various factors. One prominent issue is the lack of job opportunities for young people, as they struggle to acquire the necessary skills needed for employment that can cover the expenses of urban living. Our life skills to life work program offers a helping hand, not a handout, by teaching young adults and older youth valuable skills, enabling them to be self-reliant and become productive members of society. Sisters Shattering Stereotypes

Introducing our groundbreaking program that empowers young girls with STEM education, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in the field of construction. We believe that every girl has the potential to thrive in traditionally male-dominated industries, and our program aims to break barriers and shatter stereotypes.

Through hands-on learning experiences, interactive workshops, and mentorship opportunities, we foster a supportive environment where girls can explore the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By bridging the gap between STEM and construction, we open doors for these young girls, enabling them to pursue fulfilling careers in the dynamic field of construction.

Our program not only focuses on technical knowledge but also emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. We cultivate an atmosphere of creativity and innovation, encouraging girls to unleash their full potential and contribute their unique perspectives to the construction industry.

With the skills they acquire through our program, these girls will not only become successful in construction but will also serve as trailblazers and role models for future generations. By empowering them with the tools they need to succeed, we are building a more inclusive and diverse construction industry.

Join us in our mission to inspire and empower girls in STEM for construction. Together, we can break down barriers, shatter stereotypes, and create a future where every young girl can thrive and make her mark in the world of construction.
